Baking - Pasta!
Hi guys, and welcome back to my blog.
I loved making this recipe, because my number 1 fave meal is definitely pasta, no competition. I've had a pasta maker for a few years now, but I've never actually used it - i'ts just been stuck in the box on the kitchen shelf for 3 years. It looks really complicated in the shops and everything, but i'm telling you now, homemade is about as easy as eating it shop-bought (unless you hate it!) Trust me, it's the easiest recipe in the world, you'll see!
What you need:
First, you need to chuck all the flour into a bowl, and make a well in the centre. Crack the eggs one by one into a mug, and tip them in straight after. I do this because once my dad cracked them all straight into the bowl. One of them was bad, and he wasted the whole mixture. Whisk the eggs around with a fork, gradually incorporating the flour into the eggs. Then you cover it in clingfilm, and leave it to rest for half an hour. Don't ask me why, i've no idea, it just said to on the recipe I first used. After that, it's the tricky bit. Split the dough into equal quarters. If you've got a pasta maker, feed the dough through the maker, fold it into thirds, turn it 90 degrees whatever way, and repeat about 6 times, or until it's the width of the maker. Then carry on with the process without folding this time, thinning the dough each time. Finally, put it through the cutter, and it's ready to dry out and boil for your tea. Do the same with all four lumps of dough. My dad wanted to hang our spaghetti on the washing line for it to dry, but my mum was livid when she found out! If you don't have a maker, roll the dough with a rolling pin using the amount of pressure required, and cut thinly with a knife. Now you have homemade pasta!
